Allie didn’t have an elegant start in life – she
was a kitten living the feral life behind a
7-Eleven near a local mall. It had become a
pretty dicey proposition trying to eke out a
living there, so she and several others came to
live in the Outback section of our sanctuary.
She was a cute young cat, but not very social, so
she never found an adoptive home. Other than that, though, Allie’s
luck has been terrific. No more dumpster diving
for her – now it’s an assortment of food and
water bowls that are always refilled, maid
service, lots of interesting things to do and
see, plenty of playmates, and volunteers who
visit her regularly. Like a lot of formerly
feral cats, she’s somewhat shy, but has
definitely become more comfortable around
people. Once in a while we’re able to pet her a
little.
A while back Allie got an ear
infection. It was easily treated, and
she's fine now - but ever since then we've
noticed that she seems to meow a lot.
We're not sure if maybe her hearing isn't quite
up to speed, or she just decided that she has a
lot to say ;o) Either way, we're
happy to have this gorgeous girl talking to us
every afternoon when our volunteers are in the
Outback dispensing plates of food and lots of
TLC.
