Casey was one of the first cats
trapped when Sheila began working with local
feral cat colonies ten years ago. She's a
great example of what a wonderful environment
the sanctuary is for our residents. She lived in the Outback
until recently and really thrived there.
Casey loves to look outside at the creek, where
big birds often swoop down and wildlife of all
sorts wanders by, not to mention the occasional
fisherman. She says that if she ever wants a
fish, she’ll ask a heron – they seem to have
much more success than people with all their
fancy equipment!
As Casey has grown older, she
began to look a little thin and frail. So
in early 2012 we brought her inside to live on
the Uptown porch, where she can still look out
over the creek but we can keep a
closer eye on her and she has access to an air
conditioned room on those hot summer days.
And she's adjusted to her new quarters very well
- she's hanging out, enjoying the good life, and
looking great!
