Sometimes there can be good reasons why someone
may be unable to keep a cat. But what’s
difficult to understand is why they wouldn’t
make every effort to make sure their cat finds a
good home when that happens. However, it’s not
that uncommon for cats to be just turned loose
outdoors. The next step up from that is dumping
them outside a vet’s office, like a baby in a
basket, to be found the next morning. That’s
what happened to Shane – he just showed up at
Central Texas Cat Hospital one day. Fortunately
for him, Shadow Cats stepped in.
The first thing
you notice about Shane is that he is strikingly
handsome, and has a gorgeous coat with unique
markings. That makes him very easy to spot in
the Outback. And that’s a good thing, because he
always seems to be on the move. Shane seems to
really love living in the Outback, and takes
full advantage of every inch. He runs around and
plays with the other cats, roams all over the
ramps and decks, and enjoys watching the birds
and squirrels on the other side of the
screening. He
also likes attention and will usually come
around to be petted whenever you’re out there.
Shane is also a
really good mind reader...whenever you even
think about giving him any kind of medication he
won't let you get near him! So when it's
time for a periodic ear mite preventative
treatment, we've learned to sneak up on him and
squirt it in his ears when he's asleep ;o)
