Clementine, lovingly known as Clem, came to our sanctuary in May 2026 from Austin Animal Center after being found living among a colony of stray cats simply trying to survive each day outdoors. During her intake process, Clem tested positive for FeLV, a diagnosis that too often causes cats to be overlooked, but to us, it only meant she deserved a chance at love and safety even more.
Though she arrived frightened and unsure, Clem has slowly begun discovering what it means to truly be cared for: soft blankets, full meals, warm sunbeams, and gentle hands that no longer scare her. Watching her learn to trust after surviving so much heartbreak has been incredibly moving, and every little chirp, head bump, and peaceful nap reminds us why these cats matter so deeply. Clem’s story is not one of sadness, but of resilience, hope, and the beautiful second chance every cat deserves
