Violet

Violet initially came to Shadow Cats several years ago from the Arlington shelter where she had been trapped and turned in with half her foot missing. Her story touched our hearts and Shadow Cats rescued her to give her the medical/surgical care she needed. After surgery, she was immediately adopted. Unfortunately, Violet was left in an abandoned apartment a year later. Rescued once again, Violet initially had a tough time adjusting to her new roommates and all the activity of the Sanctuary. She stopped eating, and was reclusive and aggressive when approached. It took several months but we are finally at a point where Violet is coming around! She is still very cautious, but she has allowed a few people to pet her and she is eating as usual. Time is her best friend now and that’s what it will take to help this little tripod learn to trust again.

In the meantime, she is free to roam and she does just that when it’s quiet. During the evening hours, if we sneak a peek out the window, we can see her hopping along, investigating her home. Violet’s true personality will one day shine again and the fear in her eyes will be replaced with acceptance and confidence. She is a sweet girl and her future is filled with promise. We are sorry that life failed you twice, sweet girl, but you are a Shadow Cat and once a Shadow Cat, always a Shadow Cat – you are safe.
