Emmy came to WCRAS in the summer of 2021 with her kittens. It was quickly noticed that she had a severe palatal defect and was missing part of her tongue. Over the past two years, Critical Kitten Care Fund worked with specialists to find a solution for Emmy’s issues to help her be able to eat safely and properly. In those 2 years, she had 2 surgeries and several feeding tubes. They were able to close the cleft in the roof of her mouth partially. Her foster mom worked with Emmy non-stop to find the safest way to feed Emmy, and eventually, the two had a breakthrough and Emmy was cleared for adoption! Unfortunately, after months and months of trying no one was willing to adopt Emmy.
That is where Shadow Cats comes in! We had an opening and in mid-June 2023 Emmy and her foster mom were on their way! Emmy’s foster mom showed us everything about how to feed Emmy and keep her clean. She even constructed this awesome feeding station to help Emmy and minimize the mess.
When Emmy’s foster mom told us she was a sweet easy-going girl we feel like that may have been an understatement. Emmy is quite possibly the sweetest girl on the planet and absolutely nothing has bothered her during this transition. As long as she gets love and has her piggy toy to play with, she is as happy as can be. Welcome home, Emmy, you are going to love it in Harmony!
