Josie

Josie found herself in a shelter in Arlington, Texas one day and, after testing positive for the feline leukemia virus, suddenly found herself with very few options. A rescue group intervened and began searching everywhere for a place where she could go. There aren’t many shelters or sanctuaries that provide lifetime care to FeLV+ kitties, but luckily for Josie, we happened to have an opening in Cookie’s Place at our sanctuary and she soon found herself in a car heading south to Round Rock.

It’s always a joy to welcome a new little soul who was close to the end of the line in a kill shelter, and see them blossom as they realize that they’re now in a safe place and surrounded by love and TLC every day. Josie adjusted well to life in Cookie’s Place – she’s sweet, very playful whenever a toy comes out, and gets along well with the other kitties. Those skinny, hungry days are all behind her now.
