In November of 2024, we received a surprising call from Williamson County Animal Shelter. Apparently, a cat registered to us was found and ready to be claimed there. After exchanging a collective, “Huh!?” we raced down to see what was going on. We microchipped this sweet old girl back in 2006, and while she very well could have been a TNR at the time, it seems very likely that she was adopted at one point. This is because, somewhere along the way, this poor old lady was declawed!
With no registered owner aside from us, and with her clearly being emaciated and without any defenses in the harsh outside world, we knew what we had to do. When we say, “Once a Shadow Cat, always a Shadow Cat” we really mean that! So, we loaded Marble up that very same hour and took her home.
Marble is still a little shy, so she is getting used to calling this her home and getting used to the idea of roommates. But one thing is for certain, Marble LOVES people! She is such a snuggler and loves to be carried around in the cat sling. We are so excited to see this old lady really blossom in the comfort of a stable home, never having to worry about where she’ll find shelter or her next meal.
