Mia was a feral cat living behind a car dealership when she had a litter of kittens. A veterinarian’s office nearby, Arbor Animal Clinic, stepped in to rescue them. They were able to find homes for all the kittens, but Mia was just too skittish to be adoptable so she has come to live with us at the sanctuary.
So far she’s been one of the shyest and most reclusive cats we’ve had in many years. That’s OK – in Wild Side, there are lots of places for cats like Mia to stay away from people while still living in a safe, loving environment. Over the years we’ve seen many formerly feral cats gradually become socialized to people, and some have even become lap cats. Others have stayed reclusive for many years. Whatever Mia wants to do is fine with us – we’ll do our best to help her live the wonderful life she deserves on her own terms.
