In Memory of Evie 5/9/2017 – 5/8/2026
Evie came to us after being dumped in a community in Round Rock alongside her three tiny kittens in 2025, and left to survive on their own. Despite being abandoned and facing so much uncertainty, she never lost her gentle spirit. She devoted herself to protecting and loving her babies while still finding room in her heart to trust people again.
When Evie was found by a sister rescue, she was suffering from a pyometra (infection of the uterus), abscess, and a variety of other issues. Then on top of all that, she ended up with FeLV. That’s when Shadow Cats was called to step in and save this precious baby.
Evie was more than a grey and white cat when she arrived at Shadow Cats. She was a gentle soul who brought comfort, warmth, and quiet joy to everyone lucky enough to know her. She enjoyed pets and loved to sleep in other’s condos. Once in a while, Evie would let someone pet her stomach, but then trick you into the tummy trap. Whether she was curled up for a nap, asking for affection, or simply watching the world with her beautiful eyes, Evie had a way of making even the hardest days feel softer.
Her passing has left an emptiness that words cannot fully describe. Today especially feels unfair, as we should be celebrating her life with treats, cuddles, and candles instead of tears. But even in our heartbreak, we are so grateful for every moment we had with her.
Run free over the rainbow bridge, sweet girl. Happy Birthday in heaven, Evie. You will always be loved, always be missed, and never forgotten. 🤍🐾 Our thanks to Laurie and Kez, all her sponsors, and all at Vista Vet who looked after Evie.
