In Memory of Mizo 7/23/2020 – 3/4/2022
Mizo was at the Rockwall, TX, shelter where she was slowly fading away from leukemia and liver issues. This adult cat weighed just over four pounds. Despite the shelter’s attempts to help her she continued to fade. Thanks to caring people, she was transported to Shadow Cats about three weeks ago. Sweetest kitty, as soon as she was out of her carrier she was in our arms and we were smitten!
Mizo was given intensive care at our hospital. We hoped that she would respond and turn the corner. She came home from the hospital looking bright-eyed and wanting love, pets, and ready to play. She still required vigilant monitoring but we were hopeful she was on her way to living large here at the Sanctuary or even in a home. We had high hopes. Mizo struggled even on her first days at the sanctuary and had to return to the hospital for more care. After all avenues were exhausted, Mizo still was not responding well. For her to be free of suffering, a gentle passing, cradled in loving arms, was our final gift to this dear sweet girl.
Rest easy, precious Mizo. We did not know you well, but we loved you deeply.
Thanks to all who cared for Mizo – the shelter, our caring staff, and all the doctors and staff at Sam Bass Veterinary Wellness.
