Boston

In Memory of Boston         2/5/2016 – 4/9/2022

Not sure of all that happened in his life, but it was a hard life we believe for certain. We know that this handsome boy ended up in a shelter in Fort Worth, TX, not very well at all, and then was found to be both FeLV and FIV positive. Not many options for a boy with this diagnosis. Caring people reached out to try and find this boy a home or a sanctuary to give him a chance. He deserved a chance to live. We had room at the time and Boston was on his way to a safe and loving place, Cookies Place here at Shadow Cats.

Boston arrived in February. He was a very sick boy, so we got him the care he needed and he improved a little every day. Our poor boy was so unsure – he was hissy and swatty, needing lots of TLC and we told him every day, ”You have come to the right place, Boston, we are gonna love you and care for you and you will never be scared again, we have lots of time and patience”. He did accept pets and scritches from our staff. They were wonderful with him, so caring. He was a quiet boy, keeping to himself, but we knew soone he would be one of the gang, just a matter of time.

Sadly, we didn’t have enough time. Our precious boy has struggled with many health issues. It seemed to be one after the other in the short time he was with us. After a sudden downturn today he was suffering, so a gentle passing was our gift to him. He was cradled in the arms of his caregivers, and passed knowing he was loved. We hope in the short weeks that Boston was with us he knew how much he was loved, and the scars of the past were lessened. Every day he had the best care, he had food, he was safe and he was cherished. Precious Boston, we so desperately wanted you to get well.

Rest easy, dear Boston. Your star has dimmed, but you will always live on in our hearts. Fly free, precious boy, romp and play, healed and well.

Thanks to all who helped rescue Boston and all who loved and cared for him. Special thanks to the Doctors and staff at Sam Bass Veterinary Wellness.
