Frankie

In Memory of Frankie       5/14/2020 – 4/26/2022

Frankie was rescued from the streets of Irvine, CA, along with her three siblings. There seemed to be no positive outcome once she and her siblings all tested positive for leukemia, however, a local rescue and a volunteer reached out to help them. They contacted Shadow Cats to see if we might have room for all four and at the time we did! Transport was arranged and the California Four, as they have always been known, packed their bags and were on the way to their new home at Shadow Cats.

These four kitties were just the most fabulous group. We were all head over heels in love with them as soon as they came out of their carriers. All different personalities, all just so precious. In their initial isolation period, these four were so much fun. They played together, chased each other around, and then collapsed and slept in a big bundle on top of each other. Our hearts just melted. These four gave us such joy, they were all love bugs!

Frankie was the smallest of the siblings. She was always on the move, just a blur when playing. She was so beautiful like a tiny black jaguar, as smooth as velvet with the most gorgeous eyes. She was stunning! And friendly! Always there to greet you when you walked into the room. She wanted to be loved, she wanted to be held, she wanted to be with you. We were so happy to be able to fulfill her every wish.

Over the past few months Frankie has suffered from issues related to leukemia. She has had bouts of severe stomach problems and has bounced back. She was little but strong, but today her strength left her – the fight had gone. She fought so hard and through all her meds and treatments she was the best kitty, she was just such a happy girl. She was such a trooper through it all. The tears flowed from everyone at the sanctuary this morning as we said goodbye. Our sweet girl passed cradled in loving arms wrapped in a soft blanket, so gently and ever so peacefully.

Precious Frankie, you will be missed by all, especially our caring, dedicated staff who cared for you every day. Our tears will dry and we will all celebrate the time you spent with us at Shadow Cats. Just shy of 2 years old, you lived your best life at the sanctuary, loved so very much by so many.

Rest easy, sweetheart. Fly high, free of pain and suffering.

Thanks to her sponsors and all who cared for Frankie at the sanctuary, our volunteers, and doctors and staff at Sam Bass Wellness.
