Daisy

In Memory of Daisy    03/1/2009 – 04/7/2017

Daisy came to us from a hoarding situation here in Texas, along with Annie. Destined to be released into one of our colonies, she and Annie captured our hearts and instead became Shadow Cats. While Daisy never became a lap cat or allowed petting, she did enjoy being around people and never ran away when we walked by her or came close.  She was very comfortable with volunteers, staff and even when her sponsors came to visit.

This morning Daisy walked up to Jana and laid at her feet, seemingly asking for help. Jana rushed her into the Central Texas Cat Hospital where she was put into ICU care. Despite efforts to save our little girl, the seizures could not be stopped.  Her vital signs began to fail and she passed peacefully surrounded by many loving hands.

Our greatest happiness is that Daisy had many years of love and safety, a full belly,  warm nights and sunbeams. She had friends and people who loved her. Poptart had become one of her besties and she could often be found curled up with him.

Thank you to Daisy’s sponsors Mimi and Matt Baker, Amanda Mole, Pat Heltke, Susan Ibrahim and Gisela Lin for loving her from afar and supporting her needs. Thank you to our volunteers and staff who always make life better for the cats who find their home here at Shadow Cats.  Rest easy, sweet Daisy.
