In Memory of Emily 4/01/2017 – 05/19/2017
Our precious little Emily has passed. Rescued from the Lampasas area where she had been found in a yard unable to move, she came to Shadow Cats where we hoped she would blossom and grow. While we anticipated that she might regain use of her back limbs, we were prepared to give her the best life ever even if she didn’t. That was not to be. Overnight, she developed a fever and rapidly went into organ failure. There was no kindness we could give her other than a gentle passing held in loving arms. We all take comfort in knowing she did not die an agonal death in a lonely field. Rather, each night she was taken home with our kitty nannies and pampered and loved and cared for. She enjoyed a full tummy and loving arms right until the end.
We know that caring for special needs cats often comes with a high emotional cost, but that is our mission and we wouldn’t have it any other way. She had a beautiful life while she was with us.
She had no sponsors since she had only recently arrived, but we know there were many who read about her arrival here and that her story touched many of you. Thank you all for caring so much.
Rest in peace, newest angel Emmy.
