In Memory of Lana Turner 8/12/2006 – 7/15/2018
Our precious Lana Turner passed unexpectedly last night. We suspect lymphoma. She had been hospitalized since Thursday after we observed her with a nose bleed, which is unusual for cats. She’d had several tests and was scheduled for an ultrasound on Monday but she passed during the night in her sleep.
Lana Turner had been a member of the Church Colony for well over a decade, showing up around 2006. The Church was all she knew and she lived in the relative safety there under the watchful eyes of her colony caregivers until June 2017, when the property was sold. She then came to Shadow Cats along with five of her colony friends and made the Sanctuary her new home.
We are never really prepared for any of the cats to leave us, and sometimes it’s especially hard when we don’t expect it. Lana Turner was an independent girl and we loved her with all our hearts. Thank you to all the volunteers and staff who each day made her life better, and to her sponsors and those who cared about her from afar who enabled us to give her the life she had here at Shadow Cats.
Rest in peace, Lana Turner – you are loved.
