In Memory of Linden 05/06/16 – 12/05/16
Today is doubly sad. We lost Tabitha earlier today and now our precious Linden, only seven months old, has left us. An insidious tumor, likely lymphoma, made it increasingly difficult for him to breathe today and we had to make the difficult decision to let him go.
We know that kittens born with feline leukemia often don’t make it to their first birthday but that realization never makes it any easier. Our greatest solace is knowing he had a heck of time here at Shadow Cats and up until yesterday he was playing to his hearts’ content. He was well known in Cookie’s as a rowdy boy, one who liked to chase the other kitties up the condo, hold down his buddies and squeal in delight. He cuddled with any lucky volunteer who gave him their lap and he always had a sweet purr and head thump for the kitty nannies who cared for him each day. So while his life was way too short, he filled each and every kitten day with exuberance and delight at the world around him.
Linden came to us just a few short months ago from the Austin Animal Center. He was loved and cherished every moment of his life. He passed in the loving arms of his kitty nannies. Linden knew nothing but love from the moment he came to Shadow Cats from our volunteers, his sponsors and kitty nannies. He lived a joyous and beautiful life and he left his paw prints all over our hearts. We like to think he is with Tabitha right now, both strong and healed, and waiting for us all. Rest easy, babies.
