Oliver

In Memory of Oliver    04/08/16 – 01/18/17

Oliver came to us via the Austin Animal Center. Very sick, he spent two weeks in intensive care at the hospital but miraculously he bounced back and came to join the cats in Cookie’s Place soon after. We celebrated when he passed the five pound mark and cried when he could not sustain it and started the ultimate decline from the ravages of feline leukemia. Danielle, one of Shadow Cats kitty nannies, took him home on his last night and loved and cuddled and comforted him. He wasn’t alone. This morning, surrounded by loving hands, we helped him gently cross over.

We wish Oliver had been with us longer, but we are so happy he had the time he did, that he lived in the moment. Oliver climbed and played hard with his buddies. He smelled the fresh air, sunned himself on the ramps and felt the kisses and chin scritches of so many people who loved him. We are very grateful to his sponsors and donors who helped cover his medical care and who loved him from afar, to all our volunteers and friends, and especially to our amazing kitty nannies with hearts so big they take their work home with them and whisper words of comfort at 3am. Priceless. Thank you for giving him so much love. Rest easy, little buddy.
