One Life Fund

The One Life Fund began in late 2013 through a grant from the Nicholas J. Juried Foundation and designated donations from supporters around the world. Each year as the Fund grew, more cats were impacted and today the One Life Fund is now an important support system for community cats. More than 30K community cats have been impacted through Shadow Cats services. Please consider a designated donation to the One Life Fund today.

Shadow Cats’ One Life Fund assists unowned community cats in a variety of critical situations, as funds are available. Combined with other resources, the cats will have an opportunity to receive care that might have otherwise been unavailable to them. Working together and through generous donations, we work to create a stronger network for animals and save lives.

Designated funds for this program are limited. Please apply only if you have explored other resources, have made a substantial effort at fundraising yourself, and the welfare of the cat is in question.

All payments will be made directly to a veterinary clinic with rare exceptions. This program is limited to un-owned community cats, cats rescued from shelters, or TNR activities.

If an animal is in need of immediate care, where any delay will put the animal at risk, please seek care for the animal immediately. There is no guarantee that the One Life Fund will be able to assist.

Contact Sheila/Jacki, One Life Fund Managers, directly at sheila-jacki@shadowcats.net with any questions.

One Life Fund Grant application form for Individuals

**Required fields must be supplied. Incomplete requests will not be considered**

Shadow Cats One Life Fund grants are made possible through designated donations to this specific fund. The amount we have each month to assist community cats can vary greatly, depending on donations to this fund. Grants typically range from $200-$500. Donations to the fund can be made on our Donations page.

You may apply ONLY if you have made an effort to raise funds for this cat (a GoFundMe, social media posts, friends, family, care credit). Shadow Cats is a LAST resort – not the first. We can only assist if you are working to help the situation yourself, too. Do not contact Shadow Cats as a first response. Shadow Cats One Life Fund is only a small part of the assistance you will need.

Individuals in good standing may apply up to three times per calendar year.

Grants are limited to unowned community cats.

All applications are considered in the month they are submitted and MUST be completed by the last day of that month. No exceptions.

If granted, you must write a review of our services and organization within three days of grant fulfillment at this link https://greatnonprofits.org/org/shadow-cats-rescue and notify us via email when the review is completed. Failure to complete the review and notify Shadow Cats will automatically make the applicant ineligible for future grants.

Acknowledgment of the good works of Shadow Cats One Life Fund and its impact on a particular situation furthers awareness of this life-saving program. By sharing your experience, you help sustain and grow the One Life Fund and enable Shadow Cats to help more community cats.

All payments are made directly to the veterinary clinic at the time of services. No reimbursement will be made to the applicant. We do not reimburse or fund historical expenses.

All payments are dependent on the veterinary clinic’s acceptance of over-the-phone credit card payments from Shadow Cats. You must ensure the receipt is immediately sent directly to Shadow Cats via email after payment is made for any services provided. The email is sheila-jacki@shadowcats.net. It is your responsibility to ensure this is done.

ALL payments are made directly to the veterinary clinic AFTER care has been received (not as a deposit or paying prior to care). No payments can be made against a zero balance and the veterinary clinic must be willing to share the balance owed on the account for the specified cat. No payments will be made in any other way than by phone using a credit card to the veterinary clinic. (No e-payments, docusign, etc). Ensure you have verified this with your clinic prior to taking the cat in so as not to be in a situation where Shadow Cats cannot pay.

I have read, fully understand and will agree with the above statements to ensure a smooth grant process for the benefit of the specified cat.
